Where the practice scores in this library come from, who holds their rights, and how to reach us about them.
The pieces in the practice library are OMR-derived practice renditions of choral scores from the Antiochian Sacred Music Library (a resource freely published by the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese Department of Sacred Music), and, where noted, other attributed sources. "OMR-derived" means each score was optically read from the publisher's original engraving and converted into a digital notation file (MusicXML) so it can be rendered, played back, and followed along with in this app — it is a transcription made for practice, not a new edition and not a substitute for the original.
The originals remain the property of their respective composers and publishers. Every piece in the library keeps its composer credit, and where the source book is known it is shown too — you'll see this on each piece's row in the library list and, once a piece is loaded, in the small attribution line next to its title in the transport bar.
Per omr/SOURCES.md (this project's own source log): the
Antiochian Sacred Music Library is freely published by the Archdiocese's
Department of Sacred Music for congregational and choir use, and
composer credit and copyright belong to the respective composers and
publishers. Some of the original scores carry an explicit
"used with permission" credit in their footer; we pass that spirit
along here rather than claim any broader license of our own.
